Drawing, Printmaking & Painting

Welcome

I am a London-based artist who studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art. My practice brings historic materials and techniques into a contemporary abstract language, exploring the subtle relationships between colour, light, surface and form. Working with traditional Italian gesso, I incorporate finely ground pigments to create luminous coloured foundations—sometimes building geometric forms directly into the surface, and at other times allowing the ground to stage the delicate brush strokes of egg tempera.

Alongside my paintings, I create abstract monoprints on Japanese rice paper, presented from the reverse to reveal the soft, atmospheric traces of ink absorbed into its fibres. An emphasis on material, process and craftsmanship runs throughout my work: each painting and print is framed by hand in solid oak or ash, with the proportions and natural character of the timber carefully considered as part of the finished piece.
